do not give up

The Bible says in Galatians 6 v 9 “ Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up ”. One of my favourite films is Called ” The Shaw-shank Redemption ” My friend at work give me a film to watch called ” The Cinderella Man “. Both films had a very strong theme. About “ Don’t ever give up “. The Shaw-shank Redemption is about a man who was framed for something that he did not do. The Character in the Film was play by Tim Robbins ( Andy Dufresne ). In jail he was beaten, and ill treated. But he never gave up. He keep getting up and trying again and again. He never gave in, when it was so easy to just stop trying. He did not give up !. Near to the end of the film, Andy Dufresne, turns to his best friend ( Played by Morgan Freeman ) who’s character was called ” Red “. “ Red “ he said ” You can either get busy living or get busy dying “ My friend, sometimes as Christians, if the truth be told, we do feel like giving up. When the world has gone done us bad, when at times, we feel like we have had a beaten, and been ill treated. My friends, when we go through these things, that is the time when we need that little word of encouragement, that time of support from the lord. That is when as the famous poem once said ” My child “ Said Jesus, “ when you see, one set of foot prints in the sand, that is when I carried you “. Jesus lifts us up, his love is what carries us on through it all. If we keep chipping away, and don’t give up, our day break will come. Those dark clouds of discouragements and despair will be blown away, by the gentle, warm, loving breeze of Gods Holy Spirit. I heard the story of a old lady who had a little bird that could sing so sweetly. One day the old lady was using the hover to clean up. The bird cage door was open, and she accidentally sucked up the little bird, who went though the hover, it spun around and around in side. It came out covered in dust and distressed. Funnily enough when it came out, the little bird did not feel like singing much that day. My friend sometimes when we go through things, we feel like we are tossed and turned from one side to an other. we don’t feel like praising or singing much. But may I encourage you to dust your self down. When we feel like our get up and go, has got up and gone. Its time we got and and got it back.When King David, was at one of his low points. ( 1 Samuel 30 v 6 ). And some of the people turned against him. David did not give up. The Bible says ” That David strengthened ( encouraged ) himself in the Lord his God. We like wise, should learn to do the same. The Bible says in Psalm 103 v 1 to 2 ” Bless the Lord O my soul ; and all that is within me bless his Holy name. Bless the Lord O my soul, and forget not all his benefits “. Then ask the Lord to return unto you the joy of your salvation. So that, we may all experience, as the Bible says in Acts 3 v 19 says ” Times of refreshing from the Lord. Let the Lord put a new song in your heart Psalm 40 v 3. My friend, we have a choice to make every time trouble hits our tent. Do we get busy living or get busy dying ?. When we get knocked down, do we get back up, for Jesus and the things of the Kingdom of God ?. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians..4 v 8 to 9.We are hard pressed, but not crushed.. Perplexed, but not in despair.. Persecuted, but not abandon.. Struck down, but not destroyed. The Bible does not call us survivors, but the Bible calls us over-comers !. Great it is, to dream your dream, as you stand in youth by the starry stream. But a greater thing is to fight life through, ( never give up ). Then to say at the end, the dream came true. The Bible says in Psalm 3 v 3 ” He ” Jesus ” is the up lifter of our heads. Also in Psalms 55 v 22 ” The lord will sustain you “. Its about not giving up, its about perseverance. My friend don’t give up, in doing good, because as the Bible says, God has promised you, you WILL reap a harvest, in due time. If you don’t give up. You will come through it, our God is the God of the break through. Don’t give up, walk tall in Jesus, your a child of the King. God bless you my friend. Matthew.
